Theatre of Horrors: The Sordid Story of Paris’ Grand Guignol

I am delighted to share with you all the release of the documentary film I wrote, researched, and developed with director David Gregory of Severin Films. Theatre of Horrors: The Sordid Story of Paris’ Grand Guignol, is currently touring film festivals and independent cinemas around the world. We had our premiere at l’Etrange Festival on September 6th 2025 in Paris, France.

Produced, directed and edited by award-winning filmmaker David Gregory and narrated by horror icon Barbara Steele, its London debut was at the Nickel Cinema. We are currently developing a 12 disc BluRay box set including the documentary, a number of newly restored films from the silent ear and on based on works from the Grand Guignol stage. Many of these films star actors who made their debut on that little stage in Montmartre. Included in the set is also a book containing many contemporary texts on the theatre, news clippings, rare photos, and scholarly articles.
